Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

At St Marie’s School, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is an important part of our Catholic education. We believe that every child is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be treated with love, dignity and respect.

Our RSE curriculum helps children develop healthy relationships, understand how to keep themselves safe, respect others and learn about growing up in an age-appropriate way.

We use Life to the Full Plus, developed by Ten Ten Resources, as our main programme. This is supported by BigTalk Education’s Growing Up Safe programme, alongside Science, Religious Education, Computing and our wider Personal Development curriculum.

Our curriculum reflects the updated Department for Education statutory guidance, which came into effect in September 2026, while remaining rooted in our Catholic faith and values.

Our RSE Policy

Following consultation with parents, carers, pupils, staff and governors during July 2026, our updated RSE Policy was approved by the Local Academy Committee on 7 October 2026.

The policy explains what we teach, how we deliver RSE, how we support children’s individual needs and how we work in partnership with parents and carers.

It also includes a summary of the consultation feedback and an overview of our curriculum.
