Local Academy Committee

Local Academy Committee members are drawn from a variety of backgrounds and are recruited for the skills they can bring to the Local Academy Committee as a whole. Each one is dedicated to the continued success and improvement of the school.

The role of our local academy committee body is to ensure:

  • the preservation and maintenance of the Catholic character of the school.
  • the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined.
  • we provide support and challenge to the headteacher.
  • effective use of the school’s financial resources.

We Are Recruiting New Governors

St Marie’s Primary School, part of St Clare’s Multi-Academy Trust, is currently looking to recruit:

  • Two Foundation Governors from the parishes of St. Vincent’s and St. William’s

  • One Parent Governor, starting from September 2025

Governors play a key role in supporting our school’s vision: “Through working together, loving each other, and always doing our best, we will all become the amazing, unique individuals God wants us to be.”

These are voluntary roles where you will work closely with Mr. John Fernandes, the headteacher, and our senior leadership team. Training and support will be provided.
