Dear Families of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

We would like to invite you to a workshop and a coffee morning on:

Friday 25th October 2024
9am -10am

There will be a short talk about Separation Anxiety
Followed by coffee and tea. There will also be coffee from Eritrea made by some of our parents.

We have a lot to celebrate:

* Amharic as our language of the month.
* The end of a first term at school for our new children.
* A positive start to our school year.
We hope as many of you as possible can attend.

Year 3
Y3 Sponsored Wheelathon

On Tuesday 12th November Y3 will be challenging themselves to wheel 30,000m or more!. All wheels (as long as they can be safely brought to school and go on the top or bottom pitch) accepted. We are hoping Y3 will use their scooters, bikes and skates to be able to wheel over 30,000m as a team!

All staff to attend please if possible.

Reception class will be doing a

Sponsored Danceathon challenge on the run up to Christmas.
Wed 13th November

We will be boogying for 30 minutes straight!

We will be doing a mixture of copying actions, feeling the beat and of course freestyle!

All the money raised will be used to support exciting projects within school that all the children will benefit from. Last year the money raised went towards new I Pad’s to support the children’s learning, in school education days including the Planetarium visit, KS1 Math’s resources, KS2 decking and KS1 playground improvements, class trips, sports days and lots more!

Year 6
All the Year 6 children at St Marie’s’ school will need to get their running shoes on, as they will be taking part in a sponsored

‘Marathon Challenge’

on Friday 22nd Nov

The children can wear optional fancy dress or PE kit for the day

The class will work together, supporting each other as they run a combined Marathon distance.

Year 1
We are going to do a fancy dress stomp-a-thon! The afternoon of Wednesday the 20th of November.

All the Year 4 children at St Marie’s’ school will doing a

Sponsored Crazy Hair Skipping challenge
on
Friday 22nd November 2024

In Year 4, we would like the children to come to school with a crazy hairstyle – the crazier the better. The children will be taking part in various skipping games throughout the day and we will count how many skips we can collectively do as a class! Each child’s number of jumps will be added together and shared with everyone at the end of the day.

Please come to school with Crazy hair and PE kits please!

All the year 5 children at St Marie’s school will be taking part in a Skipathon on
Fri 22nd Nov

Skipping has many benefits including strengthening bones and muscles and preventing cardiovascular disorders. It improves stamina, balance, motor planning and confidence. As well as being a healthy challenge, it’s fun and gets us working together as a class. For all these reasons, we can’t wait to get skipping and help the HSA!

Hi Kelly, Jenny and John,

I hope all is well.
Last week we found out that 2 of our Secondary School Robotics teams have qualified to represent the UK in China and that we are able to secure sponsorship for them to attend. This means that I can’t run the years 1 and 2 club on Tuesday the 17th December or the KS2 club on Thursday the 12th December as I will be in Shanghai.

I have emailed all of the parents and sent them a £7 refund.

I hope this is OK. Apologies for any inconvenience that this causes.
