Group 1 – Weaselling, Orienteering and Low Ropes

Group 1 had another fantastic day of adventure at Thornbridge. In the morning, they headed to Higgar Tor for a weaselling session amongst the rocks. The children experienced a real Peak District microclimate, with glorious sunshine mixed with strong winds! It was cold and breezy to start with, but the weather improved as they made their way around the rocky landscape. Everyone showed great courage and determination as they squeezed through narrow passages and explored the natural surroundings.

After lunch, the group put their navigation skills to the test with an orienteering challenge around the site. Working in teams, the children used maps and clues to find checkpoints and complete the course.

The afternoon finished with the low ropes course, where teamwork, communication and trust were key. There was plenty of laughter, a few splashes of water and lots of encouragement as the children tackled the challenges together.

It was another excellent day, full of adventure, resilience and teamwork, with the children continuing to push themselves and make the most of every opportunity.
