We’ve noticed that some of our children—especially in Key Stage 2—are struggling with sleep and are often messaging their friends late at night. Good sleep is really important for children’s health, happiness, and learning.
We kindly ask families to help by limiting screen time in the evenings. It can help to set a good example ourselves and to make sure devices (like phones or tablets) are not left in bedrooms overnight, where they can be a tempting distraction.
Here are some useful tips to support healthy sleeping habits at home:
Keep a regular bedtime routine
Avoid screens for at least an hour before bed
Make bedrooms quiet, dark, and comfortable
Try calming activities like reading or listening to soft music before sleep
Children and young people need good sleep to help their brains grow and stay healthy. Without it, they may find it harder to concentrate and learn.
Let’s work together to support their wellbeing—starting with a good night’s sleep.
