What a fantastic session we had for our Marathon Club this week! The weather was glorious, with the sun shining brightly and making it quite hot for our runners, but they powered through with great determination. The children took regular water breaks to stay refreshed and motivated, which helped them maintain their energy.
Some standout performances this week include Ewan from Year 5, who ran a remarkable 18 laps, covering 9 km! Also, James R from Year 5 wasn’t far behind with an impressive 19 laps (9.5 km), showing fantastic stamina. In addition, Leopold from Year 4 ran 16 laps, and Freddie M from Year 5 completed 13 laps (6.5 km).
We also had a great surprise with some of our Year 6 children joining in after returning late from a school trip – a very impressive effort from George, Elsie, and Isaac, who still made time to contribute despite a busy day.
The excitement of the London Marathon this weekend seemed to be an extra boost for our runners, all aiming to reach their own marathon distance.
Everyone did a fantastic job, and we are all looking forward to the next session where we continue to work towards that marathon goal!
