Year 5’s Eyam Escapades!

On Thursday, Year 5 continued their exploration of Eyam, diving deeper into the village’s rich history. The day began with a visit to the Church and Graveyard, where the children learned about the significant events that unfolded during the Plague.

Next, they headed to the Eyam Museum to discover fascinating artefacts and stories that brought the village’s history to life. Afterward, it was time for lunch and play in the park, giving the children a chance to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Following lunch, they ventured to the Market Square and Bull Ring, where they saw the Lydgate Graves and Plague Cottages at Townhead. The group made their way to Merril’s Tomb and Cucklett Delph, where they marvelled at the historical significance of these sites.

The day wrapped up with a fun photo opportunity at the stocks before walking back to Townhead. The children finished their adventure with more playtime in the park, creating wonderful memories of their time in Eyam.
