Despite the early morning clouds, the sun eventually shone on the Year 5s as they set off for their much-anticipated residential to Eyam, a village steeped in history. The first stop on their journey was Magpie Mine, where pupils had the opportunity to explore the site and uncover fascinating facts about its mining past.

The day concluded with the coach journey to Eyam, leaving everyone eager for the walk up to Mompesson’s Well!
