Reception enjoyed dressing up as heroes for World Book Day. There were real life heroes such as firemen, nurses, doctors, astronauts and lots of other superheroes and fairies. Thank you to all the parents for providing costumes.Â
In the morning, the children loved seeing Mr Fernandes dressed as a frog in the KS1 assembly as he read ‘Oi Frog’ by Kes Grey. We also had the opportunity to buddy up with Year 4 to read together and complete some creative activities, including designing book marks and superhero capes. In the afternoon, the class went into the school woods to listen to our class book ‘Billy’s Bravery’ by Tom Percival. Next, they used natural material to create their nature hero head band. The day finished with the children swapping books. They were very excited to receive a new book to take home. Well done everyone!
