Mini Vinnies
At St Marie’s school, we believe that our children are at the heart of real sustainable change as they are the future.
The Mini Vinnies at St Marie’s school are our Y3 class. They know that they can turn their concerns into action and that their prayers are also help for creating change.
The Mini Vinnies find out more about what it means to be a Mini Vinnie during the Autumn term. They are then commissioned to being an official Mini Vinnie. The children receive a badge, which this year was blessed and awarded to the children by Fr. Henry. The children are then ready to use their knowledge and motto of SEE – THINK – DO.
The Mini Vinnies have been actively looking for ways to support our local community. This has included holding the ‘Pancake Pop Up Cafe’ where each class were invited to come and have a pancake. All donations went to the Good Shepherd Appeal. During Lent, the Mini Vinnies were given the job of preparing all of the vegetables for our Cafod Soup Lunch. They have also been to sing to our neighbours at Bridgedale Care home and delivered Easter cards to them. Easter cards were also made to send out to people within Sheffield who receive a visit from SVP member.
