Year 3’s Remarkable Readathon!

The Year 3 children have been very busy bookworms during their week-long Readathon.

Here’s a peek into the magical happenings at school:

1. Daily Reading ‘Power Hours’: Our children have dedicated time to immerse themselves in captivating stories during daily reading sessions.

2. Reading buddies: Year 3 children have teamed up with children in Reception and Year 2, sharing their love for stories and introducing children in KS1 to new and exciting literary adventures.

3. Book Recommendations: Our little book critics have been on a mission to share their favourite reads and explore new gems recommended by their friends and teachers.

4. Reading and performing a story to Year 1- the Year 3’s put on a hilarious show, reading out loud a story they chose which included some great actions and sound effects.

Some children even chose to spend their break time on the KS1 playground reading stories to the younger children!

Additionally at home, the children have been actively participating in the challenge by completing tasks on their Readathon home bingo sheets.

We’re over the moon to announce that our Year 3 children have not just met, but exceeded their reading challenge this week. Their commitment to regular reading has made this event a resounding success.

Thank you to all the parents and families who have sponsored and cheered on our little readers in this challenge!
