This week Year 1 have been learning more about the Sacrament of Baptism. We started with the baby or person to be baptised being welcomed at the door. We then looked at what happens in a Baptism. We talked about the clothing and white garment that is used and how it symbolises purity. We talked about us not being able to live without water and how this is a sign of life. We all had a turn in practising baptising the doll saying the important words “I baptise you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen” We did this in pairs so that we had a turn to think about what it is like for the families and the Priest.
