The Superheroes of Year 1 were set a buildign challenge. Our story in Literacy has been ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and in Science we have been learning about materials. Our challenge was to build a house. Our house would then be tested to see if it would blow down (luckily by a hairdryer not a wolf!). After we tested our houses we either went to try a different material or we could make our house stronger and test it again. We learned “the tall towers were blown down”, “the small house in a square didn’t blow down” and “the houses with gaps are not the strongest.” Our final challenge was to then build some city walls as a class. We each had Kapla or wooden blocks and had to work as a team to put our own bricks in. We then tested it and only some of the walls fell down! Well done Super scientists and brilliant builders!Â
