In September 2022, a remarkable journey began for our school as we became part of a new family; the St Clare’s Catholic Multi Academy Trust. On Thursday 19th October, we came together to celebrate and thank God for this new family, offering our prayers and gathering with students and teachers from fellow schools within the trust.

Representing St. Marie’s, our Year 5 children joined students and educators from across the St Clare’s Catholic Multi Academy Trust at St Marie’s Cathedral.

The Mass, themed ‘Let Your Light Shine,’ was a beautiful reflection on the Patron Saint, St. Clare, and her representation of carrying the blessed sacrament as a radiant light.

The Gospel passage from Matthew emphasised the importance of shining one’s unique light and the power of working together for a brighter world.

‘You are the salt of the Earth. You are a light to the world’ Matthew 5;13-16

Each school presented how they plan to ‘let their light shine’ through banners, symbolising virtues and values held dear by their respective communities.

Our St Marie’s banner, bearing the message “We grow in faith knowing that Jesus is always our friend,” served as a powerful symbol of our commitment to faith and unity.

It was a moving occasion that highlighted unity, shared values, and the promise of a bright future for our St. Clare family of schools.
