Learning about the Science of Sound in Year 4

Last Friday morning, Year 4 had a workshop with Sam Paechter from Boffin Projects, who taught them all about the Science of Sound! Everyone got to take part in experiments to explore volume, frequency and pitch using everyday objects, such as straws, tin cans, pencils and pipes. Ask your child about how a truck and a mouse help us to remember some rules about sounds. From banging drums, blowing straws, dropping sticks, hitting tubes and even hearing the tuba being played in front of them, the children had a wonderful time experiencing everything to do with the science of sound!
