Park Life in Year 5!

Well done to our Year 5 children, who despite a forecast for cold and wintry conditions, were greeted by glorious sunshine when they arrived at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster on Tuesday. The trip was organised by the Y5 team to support learning about rainforests in Geography and habitats in Science. After a brisk walk to see a number of animals including the meerkats, lions and giraffes, the class enjoyed their lunch and had time for a play in the park. Following that, Y5 attended a classroom session focusing on rainforests and the children enjoyed investigating snake skin, an anteaters skull and holding a snail! Following this session, the class had the chance to observe several other animals including the armadillo, howler monkeys and tigers to name but a few. The children in Y5 were brilliantly behaved all day and true ambassadors for our school.
