A Viking visits Year 4!

Today, Eric the Viking visited St Marie’s to teach Year 4 all about the Anglo- Saxons and Vikings.

The children talked about why the Anglo- Saxons and Vikings came to Britain and learnt about Viking Law and Order. Some of our class were even guilty of Viking crimes in the trials we held! We also learnt about runes and practised writing our names. We got to see and hold numerous Viking weapons and artefacts and even practised our defence skills with a shield when faced with a sea of deadly javelins! The children had a wonderful day, laughing and learning all about the Vikings!

Thank you to Richard from ‘History into Schools’ for such a fantastic day. We all had so much fun!
