Skellig’ inspired science in Y6

Today, Year 6 have completed their class novel Skellig by David Almond, a mysterious and thought-provoking story that inspired plenty of curiosity and discussion. To build on their learning, the children have begun planning an information text all about the strange creature they encountered in the book. Linking their English work with science, they also had the exciting opportunity to examine real owl pellets! Carefully dissecting the pellets, they discovered tiny bones and other fascinating remains, helping them understand more about owls’ diets and habitats — and adding an extra layer of intrigue to their study of Skellig.
