Today saw the start of Holy Week in school. Year 3 led the assembly today telling us the story of Palm Sunday. Through song they were able to tell us about a ‘lovely day in Jerusalem’ with Jesus being given a donkey to ride and Jesus is here, nothing to fear. We then heard about the busy town with people bringing their cloaks to lay down finishing everyone singing and shouting “Hosanna” and “Praises”. Our finally song saw the Chief Priests seeking an informer as the had a “plan, plan, plan to get this man”. Judas was then seen joining the Chief Priests for 30 silver coins.
Well done to all of Y3 for their super assembly. Your singing, acting and reading was superb.
At the end of the day the Y3 children were able to hand out palm crosses to each class for children to take home.
