On Wednesday, we enjoyed an exciting trip to the Emergency Services Museum. The children had a wonderful time exploring the museum and learning about the history of the emergency services.
One of the highlights of the morning was a fantastic talk from Jade, who had travelled the way from 1666! The children learned about what life was like during the time of the Great Fire of London and how people responded to fires in the past.
In the afternoon, the children took part in a fun, hands-on workshop. Working together, they had to put out a ‘fire’ before it could spread from house to house. This activity helped them understand how quickly fires can spread and the importance of acting quickly to keep people safe.
To finish the day, the children explored the museum’s impressive collection of lifeboats, ambulances, and fire engines. They were fascinated by the different vehicles and enjoyed seeing how emergency services help people in many different situations.
The children represented our school wonderfully throughout the trip. They were curious, enthusiastic, well done Year 1!
