Year 4 visit Ewden Water Works

On Thursday, Year 4 visited Ewden Water Treatment Works.
The children showcased their knowledge of the water cycle, discussed which harmful bacteria is found in the water and completed group activities about the reduction of water waste.
They also had a guided tour of the treatment facility kitted out in helmets, headsets and safety goggles!  They should now be able to tell you how water is cleaned before it enters our homes.

In the afternoon, unfortunately we were unable to visit the Water Waste Works due to a roof leak. Instead, we learnt about how pipes become blocked with different items and fat. We sorted out different objects into where they should be disposed (the toilet, the sink, the bin or the recycling bin).

Our leaders Louise and Anne were very impressed with our knowledge and all of the questions we asked and answered. We all had a fantastic day.
Thank you to our parent volunteer for supporting us today.Â
