Wonderful Whittling

If you went down to the woods on Tuesday, you would have found...teaching assistants learning how to whittle! As we are working hard to develop outdoor learning in our school, the teaching assistants had a training session on Tuesday and learnt the Forest School skill of whittling wood. They had a fabulous time exploring our woodland and trying out fun activities and skills that they will use in future outdoor learning sessions with the children!

The Mystery Writing Challenge

Take a look at the image; where does the path lead? Is it to a magical place full of surprises or a secret world filled with enchanted creatures and plants? Who has dropped the basket? Why was it dropped? It’s up to you. Your challenge is to write a story opening based on the picture. Remember to use lots of descriptive language and create a picture in the reader's mind that makes him/her want to read more. It is only the story opening, so don’t give too much away. Be as creative and imaginative as possible! Please bring your entries in by Wednesday 3rd MAY.

Remember to use your neatest handwriting to make sure we can read it properly, keep your paper neat and try not to crease your paper in case we choose to display your work in school!
Good luck and happy writing!!

Good Bye Mr Frith!

He is well loved by all the pupils past and present and they will remember him very fondly. We will all miss his support and his kindness. We wish him well in his new job.

Cafod Lent Fast Day

Thanks to all of you who volunteered to take part in our Family Fast Day lunch today to support CAFOD’s 'Big Fish' campaign. We hope you enjoyed the soup! Well done to all the children and staff who chopped all the vegetables this morning. If you haven’t paid already, please pay via our online payment system or send £2 to the school office on Monday. Over 120 meals of Soup were served – a magnificent total- giving us over £310 to donate to CAFOD. Every pound raised for CAFOD will help the millions of families around the world who are living in extreme poverty; thank you very much for your generosity and thank you to DOLCE too for providing the vegetables and bread.
