Today, Eric the Viking visited St Marie’s to teach Year 4 all about the Anglo- Saxons and Vikings. The children designed their own Anglo- Saxon shield, wrote their names in Viking runes, got to see and hold numerous Viking weapons and even practised their defence skills with a shield when faced with a sea of deadly javelins! The children had a wonderful day, laughing and learning all about the Vikings!
Thank you to Richard from ‘History into Schools’ for such a fantastic day. We all had so much fun!
