Our science topic this term is Rocks.

The children will work scientifically by observing rocks, understanding their properties and finding out how they are formed and why they might have changed over time. They will use a hand lens  to help them to identify and classify rocks according to whether they have grains or crystals, and whether they have fossils in them. We will explore how fossils are formed. The children will explore different soils and identify similarities and differences between them and investigate what happens, for example, when rocks are rubbed together or what changes occur when they are in water.

Our science lessons will usually be on Fridays. Keep looking at the website to see what the children have been learning.

If you have any rocks, crystals or fossils that you would like to bring in to school to show us, or to use for a class display, please bring them in over the next few weeks.
