The two youngest children in our school, together with Mr Fernandes, officially opened the Playpod on Thursday by cutting the red ribbon.
The Playpod is filled with an array of weird and wonderful resources to enhance the children’s play. The exciting scrap includes giant flexible tubes, old tyres, netting, fabric, old telephones and chairs. These materials encourage children of all ages to play together and build friendships whilst playing creatively. Using their imaginations to play in a more active way is proven to reduce playground disputes and has direct benefits to children’s health and mental wellbeing.
“Playing is one of the most important activities children can do. Play teaches them so many skills they will rely on for their whole life including problem solving, co-operation and teamwork, conflict resolution and creativity.”- Mr Fernandes.
