St Marie's Super Sixties!

Today all our 60 pointer plus children from last half term received their rewards and had refreshments with Mr Fernandes. Over 70 children enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate drink and biscuit with Mr F. Check out the gallery photos below. Well done everybody; let's try and get even more 60+ this half term.

St Marie's Premier Stars Footballers

Congratulations to our U9s football team!
Last Wednesday, at Mylnhurst School, they played 6 games in total and took part in a penalty shoot-out competition. They put together some very exciting moves and produced some fantastic football to come 2nd in the tournament.
This week they travelled to the Sheffield United Academy to play in a Premier Stars festival of football. They were one of 17 teams, lost only once and managed to beat the same team in the final on penalties after a very exciting game which ended1-1. The penalty practises the week before turned out to be very valuable. Well done! We are very proud of all our players Sam, Kavan, Cian, George, Dylan and Foley.

New Play Equipment in KS1

Our HSA were thrilled to be able to provide £7000 funding for the school to purchase the new play equipment in the KS1 playground.

Thank you to everyone who helped in one way or another at our fundraising events. This year we have asked our HSA to raise funds to provide new ICT equipment for our suite for pupils to enhance their learning. This means purchasing 18 desktop PCs and associated equipment.  All our fundraising efforts for the rest of the academic year at least will be focused on achieving this.

Please support all our events in any way that you can, and in particular, our upcoming Winter Fair.

Your continued support is vital – thank you.

Online Safety

Most children these days have regular access to the internet via PCs, games consoles and mobile technologies.  Whilst this instant communication offers fantastic opportunities for learning, it is our responsibility as adults to ensure we keep our children safe from any dangers or images that could upset them.

A copy of ‘Digital Parenting’ Magazine will be going home with children either today or early next week. A digital copy can be downloaded here. It is packed with very useful information on how to keep children safe online. As always, they have an updated guide to setting parental controls on apps and devices. It also includes information on digital resilience and film classification to protect children on their mobiles and tablets. Please take time to read the publication.
