Year 1's local walk around Ranmoor to help the Pirates!

On Friday 13th September Year 1 went on a local walk around Ranmoor. Before we left we recieved a letter from The Jolley Rodger family of Pirates. The letter said they needed us to look out for landmarks on our walk for us to make a map of the area. They said they will use our maps (if we send them by bottle across the sea) to come and find us. On our walk we looked at different types of houses, different types of buildings and their names. We finished our walk by sitting outside St. John's Church and sketching some of the houses and buildings that we could see. Well done Year 1 for excellent behaviour and many thanks to all of our volunteers who joined us for the afternoon.

Y2H Crowning of Mary

On Wednesday it was the turn of Y2H to Crown Mary. We talked about how and why Mary is so special to us. We talked about why she is a role model to us and how we always want to try to say 'Yes' to the things God asks us to do. We then sung 'Hail Mary' at the Mary Garden.

Gold for St. Marie's!

For the year 2014-15 we have been awarded the Sainsbury's School Games GOLD mark. This achievement recognises the fabulous sporting opportunities and experiences that our children have. It also recognises that our children are actively involved in many different sporting activities throughout the whole year.  Many thanks to all the children, staff and parents who have helped by participating, giving lifts or being enthusiastic supporters!!

Mr Fernandes asks "Is there a platinum award for next year?"

Nifty Netballing!

On Friday afternoon the Y6 girls netball team participated in the Hallam Netball Competition held at Mlynhurst School. The girls showed off their amazing teamwork and netballing ability.  The girls won 2 matches and lost 3 to come 4th place in the competition! We even got to have a team photo with Bishop Ralph who was there to watch and present the awards at the end. Special mention to Olivia who nominated as 'most improved player' although Miss Healy said this was the toughest decision she had had to make all week!

Well done girls on a fab performance!
