Our Y6 and Y5 school trip to the Christmas Science Lecture
Today we had an amazing school trip! It was an excellent experience, and everyone enjoyed it! When we arrived at the Octagon Centre, the cameras were filming us, and it was a madhouse in there.
After that, a professor from the university gave us a lecture about plants and fertilisers. He also gave us a plant pot and some seeds for us to grow at home. The professor said it was an early Christmas present. The lecture itself was so interesting, most of us lost track of time.
Included in the lecture was an Alpaca, some indoor lightning and lots of... POO! Eventually, we all got to say hi and stroke the alpaca.
After the lecture, we enjoyed doing hand activities which helped us understand more about the bacteria in soil and nutrients! There were stalls filled with all sorts of fascinating information about plants and how they grow. Before we left we did some origami. We made a bird and a fly. It was really fun.
