Homework week ending 6. 3. 2020

Maths

This week we have been learning to multiply and divide by 10 and 100. Your child has been given a sheet to consolidate this learning. The sheet says to copy and complete the number sentences. I stead, please ask your child to write the missing numbers on the sheet.

Reading

Please talk to your child about books you particularly enjoyed when you were a child. It would be good for your child to go through the books they have at home to remind themselves of books they have particularly enjoyed in the past, and then talk about what they liked about the books. Please continue to read regularly at home. Just 10 minutes a day adds up to more than an hour a week.

‘Young people who enjoy reading very much are three times as likely to read above the level expected for their age as young people who do not enjoy reading at all’ Children’s and Young People’s Reading in 2015, National Literacy Trust

Grammar

In a couple of weeks, your child will complete a grammar test in school. I have sent home a short test for the children to complete which will remind them about some of the areas we have covered in school. I have included the answers on the back so you can discuss the questions with your child.
